   Thanks to that sign in front of Uniontown High School, Uniontown was named "The School of Champions" in the mid-1960's.
    It was first erected during Uniontown's athletic glory years! It still stands today. For sometime that sign seemed to be in constant need of change. (It was updated a few years ago, to include numerous omissions) Now you can view each of Uniontown's WPIAL and State Championships, since the first ever won in 1925.
