a lot more than books!

They've made their mark on Red Raider history. But where are they now? We've been able to track down some of Uniontown's finest athletes and we've found they're still making their mark. On and off the field of athletics.
Tom Holiday

1971 Uniontown High School graduate Tom Holiday, you can be found where's he's been most of his life. On a baseball field. He's currently an assistant coach at the University of Texas, with nearly three decades of college coaching experience. The Red Raider football, basketball and baseball star has been involved in the careers of many major league stars during his illustrious time in college athletics. Prior to joining the coaching staff at the University of Texas, Holiday was a key member of the Oklahoma State coaching staff for 26 years. During that time he helped the Cowboys gain an entrance to 17 NCAA tournaments. For more about your fellow CLASSMATE, please go HERE

Kevin Dvorchak It is indeed rare that a Red Raider has managed to letter for more than three years in any sport at a time at Uniontown Area High School. Kevin Dvorchak was one exception. This 1998 graduate was a 4 year starter and lettered all 4 years in both football and baseball. Dvorchak also earned All County honors in both baseball and football while in high school. He's currently continuing his success at Slippery Rock University. He's now a junior who has played both sports in college and who is currently a starting pitcher on the Slippery Rock baseball team. When he's not busy with athletics, you can find him sitting in front of a computer, as an information technology major. His efforts in that area have earned him a part time job in the Slippery Rock information office.
Scott A. Henderson Scott Henderson is further proof that you can continue to achieve after your Red Raider years. Henderson led Uniontown in touchdowns as a wide receiver on the 1982 team. Later, the track and football standout, gained 1st team All Big 9 Conference honors and took his football skills to Kent State University, where he earned 3 varsity letters and a BA in Justice Studies. Henderson now lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife Wanda and his 2 year-old daughter -- Kai Duncan. He's worked for 6 years for the United States Courts as a United States Probation Officer.

Jes Hutson

Former Red Raider Jess Hutson was one of the standouts on the Red Raider basketball teams of the early 1970's. He graduated in 1971, he played and got degrees from both West Virginia University and Robert Morris College. He later coached basketball for 13 years. He's still highly visible! He teaches Health and Physical Education at Penn State's Fayette campus, he can be seen giving the play-by-play for local games on the Herald-Standard's television outlet HSTV and he's recently started coaching the girl's basketball team at Clairton High School.

Jory Coughenour

Former Red Raider baseball player and swimmer Jory Coughenour is now a minor league pitcher in the Houston Astros farm system. He was drafted in the 20th round and plays for the Single-A Michigan Battle Cats. He was named their Pitcher of the Month in April of 2001.

Chris Palumbo

This 1995 graduate earned 3rd team All State honors his senior year. He was a member of the acclaimed Red Raider 1000 Point Club and the president of his class for four years! He attended Point Park University, where he graduated with high honors. He's earned dual degrees in law and business. He's about to release a his first book on self-motivation.

Richard Constantine

Rich Constantine was the easiest of all ex-Raiders to find! The football standout and WPIAL champion wrestler is currently head of Secondary Education for the Uniontown Area School District.

Wilfred Minor

Chuck Muncie

Chuck Muncie's playing days ended before he reached his prime. His personal problems were well-chronicled. But Muncie has now dedicated his life to reaching out to children. The four time All Pro now runs the Chuck Muncie Youth Foundation in California.

Bill Power

Following Bill Power's retirement from coaching and teaching he moved to Florida. But retirement doesn't keep Uniontown's football coaching legend from returning to Uniontown when asked. He returned when they named the high school's stadium after him on October 28th, 1994. And he comes back to reminisce at occasional class reunions.

Stu Lantz

Stu Lantz certainly likes to hang out with winners. That's because he's had first hand experience being one. This first string All-Stater is currently the color commentator for the Los Angeles Lakers. Lantz has worked alongside La Laker broadcasting legend Chick Hearn for 14 years. See more HERE

Ray Gillian

When Uniontown desperately needed a touchdown in the 1965 WPIAL Championship game, Ray Gillian got it. When Ohio State desperately needed a touchdown to beat O.J. Simpson in the Rose Bowl in order to be crowned Nation Champion, Ray Gillian got it. After graduating from Ohio State the versatile Gillian became a counselor at East Stroudsburg, then an assistant to the President of The University of Maryland for 16 years and recently he was named the Assistant Provost and Director of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Johns Hopkins University.
